Can't Believe It's Been So Long
I've really missed you Blogger!! I just realized my last post was in December of last year and it's time to remedy that. Even though I have successfully completed EDM 310 does not mean I should stop using my Blogger account. Fortunately for me, EDM 310 was my first Professional Studies course for Elementary Education. Since I was such a fan of a large majority of the tools we learned about in EDM I've decided to keep using Blogger to help myself and others by spreading information related to my journey through the Education Department at South and into my teaching experiences. I still have so much knowledge to acquire, and I would love to share as much as I can. And also, it's important to remember that by continuing to use Blogger, I am able to receive feedback for anything I post. I really can't believe that I haven't used Blogger in 4 months!! What was I thinking?

Final Report on PLN
This is my final PLN that I created strictly for EDM. The blue squares at the top left of the PLN represent links associated with C4K assignments 4-11. I kept my C4K in my PLN so I could go back and visit these kids' blogs again. The same applies for the C4T assignments. I kept the C4T links in the green widgets at the bottom left hand corner of my PLN. The orange center of my PLN has widgets that will take me to several students' blog in an instant. I either know the people personally or I met them in EDM and enjoyed reading their blogs. It's much easier to keep up with the blogs in my PLN than if I had to access the Class Blog everytime. The top center, the red widgets, are reserved for random videos or websites associated with our blog assignments. The ones I have in my PLN are ones that I found interesting or useful. The bottom right pink widgets are there to make getting to EDM assignments easier. I have links to the checklist, the instruction manual, google docs, the Class Blog, and one fun one... Dr. Strange's Strange thoughts. The widgets athe the top right hand corner are self-explanatory. They will take me to whichever site they list. Since I use YouTube, Skype, and Blogger most often, I created widgets for them, along with others that are used more often than others. I really enjoyed playing around with my PLN and exploring all its cool advantages. It has been very beneficial to my EDM310 work.

Summary Post C4T #4
Week 1
I had the privalige of seeing a video posted by Wm Chamberlin. He posted a video and asked one very sarcastic question. "Does this make SNL relevant again?" I really liked the video, it was a skit from Saturday Night Live that was set up like a UN conference. Then a young man was introduced to come and give statistics on the actions the UN has taken over the last several years. The man proceeded to dance and sing around stage and after every historical event he kept saying, "What was that?" For example, he says, "Hiroshima, what was that?" It was a really funny video. But in response to Wm Chamberlin's question, no I do not think that makes SNL relevant again.
Week 2
Mr. Chamberlin had not posted anything new since the SNL video which is very unfortunate. I enjoy his blog very much, and I visit it more often than required. (honest statement!) So since he had not posted anything new, I commented on the last post made before the SNL video. This post was published on August 29, 2010. He was discussing the first week of school and what he needed to focus on to be better prepared for the school year. He listed several area that he thought needed improvement. I am surprisingly more interested in the actual list than the items in the list. I am a chronic list maker. I need a list for almost everything I do. From going grocery shopping to the day's activities, to chores that need to be done around my house. Sometimes friends and family members will crack a joke about me being OCD with lists. But, I need them in order to visualize whatever things are on the list. It gets the ideas out of my head and onto paper. I can focus on specific tasks and mark them off as they are completed. So i really like that Mr. Chamberlin made a list of things he needed to work on for himself. He was making a list of things that would make him a better educator, and I have tremendous respect for people who genuinely care about their students. I believe that it shows that he has a passion for his profession.
